What types of bread do you offer?

At Bethencourt Bakehouse, we specialize in crafting traditional, European-style sourdough bread using time-honored techniques, organic ingredients, and fresh-milled flour. As a micro-bakery, our focus is on small-batch production, ensuring every loaf is made with care and attention to detail.

Our naturally leavened breads undergo a slow fermentation process, which not only enhances flavor but also improves digestibility and unlocks essential nutrients. We are committed to using only the finest, locally-sourced ingredients, believing that the best bread starts with the best foundation. This dedication results in a variety of loaves, from rustic sourdough to flavorful focaccia, each with a crisp crust and a soft, airy crumb that is as nourishing as it is delicious.

Do you offer gluten-free, vegan, or other dietary options?

Most of our breads are naturally vegan, made with just flour, water, and salt. However, we do not currently offer gluten-free options due to the nature of our sourdough baking process.

How long do your breads stay fresh?

Our sourdough bread stays fresh for about 3–5 days when stored properly. We recommend keeping it in the micro-perforated bad we sell them in or wrapped in a clean kitchen towel.

The rye bread will last longer as it retains more moisture than wheat.

You can also freeze it for longer storage.

Do you use organic ingredients?

Yes, we prioritize organic and high-quality ingredients, including fresh-milled flour and natural fermentation processes, to ensure the best flavor and nutrition.

Can I order custom breads or baked goods?

We offer personalized bread options for restaurants and shops. If you want a custom order, contact us to discuss your needs.

Are your products made with a sourdough starter?

Yes! All our breads are naturally leavened using a long-fermented sourdough starter, giving them their rich flavor, texture, and digestibility. Sometimes, we use other methods, depending on what we are baking, but the essence of the bakery is sourdough.

Do you offer any seasonal specials?

Yes, we occasionally introduce seasonal flavors and limited-edition breads. Join our mailing list here or follow us on Instagram @BethencourtBakehouse to stay updated.
